Like any group or individual encouraging positivity and greater spiritual understanding, Kenja has experienced its share of criticism. Below, you will find links to responses from our legal team and media statements relating to a recent legal challenge:
Selections from the address of Mr. Dyers' defence lawyer at Sutherland Court on 28th October 2005
'He participated yesterday...in a voluntary record of interview, over three hours, where he answered all questions and vigorously denied each and every allegation, which is the subject of these charges and also explained circumstances, very telling circumstances, surrounding the two families in question, which cast a very serious cloud of doubt over the evidence of these two complainants and make them deeply unreliable witnesses...'
'The little that we've seen of the evidence so far...suggests to the defence that the case is very weak. It is uncorroborated evidence, of an extremely implausible kind...'
'But it seems your Honour, if I can say so with the greatest respect, that we are in Salem again in 1692 because the more bizarre and implausible the allegations, it seems, the more some people want to believe them, and the police and the media perhaps in particular, but they defy human reason and human experience.'
'...it's already becoming apparent that there are serious deficiencies in this investigation and any reasonable mind would already have very serious doubts about the plausibility of these allegations...The case is already looking extremely weak...It doesn't seem to deter the police, perhaps in their political desire to score points...'
MEDIA RELEASE – Ken Dyers Friday 28 October 2005
Mr Dyers, WWII veteran:
"I have been charged with various offences today. I am innocent of the charges. 6 police came to arrest me at my home this morning. The charges are preposterous. They allege I sexually assaulted 2 girls when I was 80 years old.
These charges are part of the continued persecution of myself and the Kenja Organisation which has gone on for over a decade.
I am 83 years old. I served my country in World War II and have served the community ever since. I think I have earned my peace.
But some people and organizations have a desire to destroy me and the Kenja community. They will not succeed.
I will fight these outrageous allegations. Kenja has a right to exist and we won’t be hounded out of existence by bigotted ignorant people. That’s all I have to say at the moment.
Thank you."
