Why do people complicate spirituality?
I don't think people set out to intentionally complicate spirituality. They just have a complicated viewpoint on it. I have been working for many years to simplify this, because the viewpoint we adopt on any area dictates what we perceive.
What do you mean when you say that you are 'a spirit'?
Well I am aware of my own spirituality and have simplified it to the point where I know that 'I am'. That's it, I just 'am'. That's the spiritual viewpoint: It's outside the physical. From there, I can decide to adopt any viewpoint I choose because spiritually I am not part of the physical. Before 'I am something', I just 'am'.
Once I decide that I am something physical, I have moved some of my awareness from the spiritual universe into the playing field of physical life. But when I just 'am', I remain in the spiritual universe, free from the physical.
So to get a straight viewpoint of myself as a spirit, I simply know that 'I am.'
How does that relate to the physical?
Many people are searching for who they are, before they have come to terms with what they are. They are a spirit, and they can adopt any physical viewpoint they choose, depending on what they want to achieve.
You are spiritual, but you also have a physical life. The first step is deciding what effect you intend to cause. Then you will know what viewpoint to adopt.
When I say 'I am', I can be aware of the physical without becoming it, because my viewpoint is from the spiritual. I can be aware of all viewpoints, without being stuck on any. Then I make a decision to cause something to happen because it would be good for the whole picture through time - not just good for the moment and creating a problem later. All of my decisions will be based on a long-term benefit to the greatest number of people.
Then I decide to know what physical viewpoint I need to adopt in order to create that effect.
So you are taking a spiritual viewpoint on physical life?
Yes. A spirit is just a state of being, where you can say to yourself 'I am'. It's granting yourself the freedom not to go along with the common thought that you are something physical just to get agreement from the minds of the people around you who have forgotten that they themselves are also spiritual in essence.
