HAPPINESS, SUCCESS AND THE SPIRITUAL VIEWPOINT

Everyone is looking for happiness in life. How do you find happiness?

Well it’s very hard to sit down and make yourself happy. I found that out a long time ago. But when you make the people around you happy, they will go out of their way to make you happy. People can only stand a certain amount of happiness before they flow it back to you. I call it double happy: I make you happy, and then you flow it back to me. It’s natural that the first thing we do when something good happens, is share it with others. The more you make others happy, the more it comes back to you. That’s a pretty good investment.

The human spirit in all of us has a natural joy and enthusiasm for life, and the greatest happiness occurs in the way we relate to others. Giving it away as much as possible is the key, and to as many people as you can and as often as you can.

How does this relate to a spiritual viewpoint?

We are all spiritual in essence, and because in our natural state we are not part of the physical, we are outside the game of life. Therefore we are neither happy nor unhappy – simply because we are not attached to a viewpoint or an emotion. We reach to a viewpoint to cause an effect, but the spiritual universe is our domain. However, as spirits we can experience the happiness of the human spirit – that simple human viewpoint that relates so wonderfully. Like the joy we experience when children play.

Spiritually, we are also responsible for creating an environment where the human spirit can happily exist. And happiness can only occur when there is an absence of fear. Therefore, reducing unconscious fear goes a long way to increasing happiness.

People will often be afraid of something without knowing what they are afraid of. We can address these fears by bringing them from a hidden position in the unconscious, to a viewable position in the conscious. Once you have located the energy of fear,  you can quickly locate the viewpoint that causes the fear through Energy Conversion meditation.

I mean we all are trying to evolve as we go through life, to rise above fear, uncertainty and hopelessness – those viewpoints that limit our enjoyment of life. Spiritual evolvement is reaching for lighter and lighter viewpoints through a lifetime as we let go of heavier ones. To do this, we need to promote a state of change. As we do this and our personal space increases, our ability to experience more points of view also increases. There are incredibly beautiful things happening around us every day: We just need to be in a position where we are free enough from negativity to experience them.

What is success to you?

"When people tell me they are successful, I always ask, successful at what?"

A person may be successful in their career but have a failing marriage. Someone else can be a successful athlete, but not be able to relate to their children. A person may consider themselves successful because they are realising a personal ambition, but they may be failing to locate success in terms of the bigger game of their life. Short-term success can be a diversion if you lose sight of the bigger game.

Success to me is ‘success in the game of life’; when spiritually, you are in alignment with your spiritual purpose, which is individual for each person. And it can only occur when your human spirit is free to express itself, because the human is the one that really understands love, magic and the important things in life that create wisdom and happiness. If your human is genuinely happy, and creating happiness in others around you – that to me is success.

What has been your inspiration?

When I was 14, I made the postulate that I would look above me, rather than around me for inspiration. Ever since, I have done just that. If your attention is on the physical, then you see the many things that might hurt you or you might be vulnerable to. But if you keep your attention on the spiritual, you will quickly get into the lighter areas. Your attention will be on the qualities of people, rather than the limitations or liabilities.
If as people, we are just relating on a physical level, then it can be a long day’s march before we find anything really inspiring. Yet every time I meet a person and become aware of them spiritually, I am inspired by their qualities and their inherent potential. Every time – without fail!

Ken, thanks very much.

Thankyou
