HEARING WITH YOUR EARS, LISTENING WITH YOUR PERCEPTIONS

We hear communication with our ears. We receive the intention of communication with our spiritual perception.

Words are agreed upon sounds that form the building blocks of language. They are physical, made of energy, and we agree they represent certain objects and concepts. These physical sounds help us communicate. They vary from culture to culture. Our body's ears receive these sounds, and our mind translates them and strings them together into their agreed meaning.

But words can only take a communication so far. The significance a person has on an area of communication often prevents them from accurately expressing how they feel, through words. For example if a person equates love with pain, they may fall short of directly saying 'I love you', even though it is clear that is their intention. On the other hand, it is possible to understand the intention of a baby who uses no words at all - if we are sensitive to the energy and pictures they send. So hearing only words is not enough.

If we listen with our spiritual perception, we receive the intention of the communication and the pictures that come with the words. This is the more subtle communication. The more accurate communication. It is what is the person is trying to say through words but is falling short because of significance.
Words are symbols that can also be misunderstood. If you spiritually receive a person's intention, there can be no misunderstanding.

A good listener listens with perception to understand what someone is trying to communicate. The words they communicate are secondary in importance.

Your skill as a good listener can be improved through effective meditation.
