Born in Australia in 1948, Jan Hamilton earned a degree in Science majoring in Physics (B.Sc, Dip.Ed.) at Melbourne University and worked as a Physics teacher before taking her passion for communicating through acting further. Jan received a grant from the Australia Council to study theatre full time for three years at E15 Acting School in London, where she also worked professionally in theatre. There she was introduced to a type of clowning that offered a vehicle for the actor to enrich his/her craft with a high-energy, childlike viewpoint.
Determined to pass on what she had learned, Jan returned to Australia in 1977. She wrote and directed shows and gave clowning workshops until she met Ken and found out about the Energy Conversion meditation work he was doing.
Experiencing Energy Conversion first-hand with immediate results, Jan saw how Ken’s communication didn't just work on stage, it profoundly helped people expand their lives. In Jan’s words "Energy Conversion made the apparently unfathomable, understandable and the insurmountable, winnable."
Working alongside Ken Dyers from 1978 until his passing in 2007, Jan pioneered
Kenja Klowning.
Today, Jan Hamilton continues to contribute to the Kenja training she and Ken co-founded. Deeply inspired and forever mindful of the courage and personal ethics of her colleague and partner, Jan celebrates Ken's life every day by finding the best in everyone around her, by communicating Ken's work and continuing alongside a growing number of people, to make Kenja training available for all who can have it and use it to enhance their own quality of life and the lives of those around them.
